Mel Brooks' monstrously crazy tribute to Mary Shelley's classic pokes hilarious fun at just about every Frankenstein movie ever made. Summoned by a will to his late grandfather's castle in Transylvania, young Dr. Frankenstein (Wilder) soon discovers the scientist's step-by-step manual explaining how to bring a corpse to life. Assisted by the hunchback Igor (Feldman), he creates a monster (Boyle) who only wants to be loved.

Forget what you've heard, THIS is the best Mel Brooks comedy he ever made, best script, best cast and best jokes, it's quotable, lovable, and laugh out loud, every scene works, and every now and again you're on the floor!
For me, Frau Blucher is the best character, abley performed by Cloris Leachman who's comic timing is immaculate, although there isn't a single weak performance in there and Gene Wilder does one of his best lead performances ever!
Watch out for a barely recognisable cameo from Gene Hackman.
The extras are pretty cool, too!
Highly recommended!
