This is David Fincher at his best, a true master of his art. All the casting is spot on, with Kevin Spacey's appearance in the final act just topping off an astounding film. It will disgust you with its ingenious murders, but simultaneously keep you glued to the screen. Fantastic, easily one of the best endings to a film I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. If you haven't seen it before, do so now.

This has got to be one of the greatest thrillers ever made. It also put director David fincher on the map.
Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman play two cops investigating murders all inspired around the seven deadly sins.
The film has a dark and brooding atmosphere, this does really add to the unforgiving affect of the film. But the final twist in the film will leave you shattered. This film will take along time to shake off, It makes The Silence Of The Lambs look like a kids dinner party. The film has been often copied ( SAW ) but never beaten. This is a must buy, as this is the Rolls Royce of disturbing thrillers.
Also it's the best head Morgan Freeman has ever been given !

The seven deadly sins are blown apart here by way of torture, cruelty and horrifying murders taking place with the NYPD trying to hunt this murderer or crazed 'lunatic' relentlessly. The two leading investigators (Mills- Brad Pitt and Somerset- Morgan Freeman) carry the audience through each step of discoveries, from the disturbing history of the seven sins to the clues, messages and motives gathered. These two actors accompany each other brilliantly, allowing the cop relationship to grow and be believable at the same time. Known widely for its excellent ending, Seven should be viewed by thriller and movie fans alike.

Seven is without doubt David Fincher's best film to date and when the credits start at the beginning you sense that you are about to watch and bear witness to something quite special.

Seven pits a pair of Detectives on totally different ends of a spectrum in terms of Detective work one being somewhat rash and impulsive and the other a more refined thought intensified person.

Both in which have a common goal to catch a serial killer who commits murders in the form of the Seven Deadly Sins; Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Wrath and Envy.

Although this film is graphic in parts it however has an excellent concept/storyline to it and is a breath of fresh air due to the fact that the murders have a significant message behind them and not just being committed by some rambling madman. There is method in his madness to the extent that this killer wants to create what he sees as a Masterpiece which is a reincarnation of the 'Seven Deadly Sins'.

Three performances above all stand out in this film for me and those are that of Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey.

With two exceptional supporting performances coming from R. Lee Ermey as the brash straight talking boss of Brad Pitts character and that of Morgan Freeman's character and Gwyneth Paltrow as Brad Pitts wife who has her own cross to bear.

This film is gripping from start to finish and you as a viewer have no inkling of who the murder is. That is clever. Seven is a film that gets you thinking because you don't see any of the murders being committed. You have to imagine how each has occurred and that is a powerful notion.

Seven is without question one of the films of the 1990s and without question one of the best murder, mystery thrillers around. Uncomplicatedly. Ten out of Ten anything less wouldn't give this film justice.

One of my favourite crime thrillers. This was my introduction to Kevin Spacey and Pitt gives a great performance. Freeman is also wonderful as the wise old veteran on his way to retirement.

A classic.
