This is one of the most laughable additions to the serial killer movie all of fame, but that's not a bad thing, the film knows how stupid the concept is and plays with it. Child's Play may be silly, but it does have some superb stand out suspense sequences in it, and Brad Duriff who voices Chucky is very funny.
This is a great little slasher film, that is a hell of allot of fun.
childs play

ok, so the storyline is pretty cheesy, a killer uses some voodoo chant to become a childs doll, then if he wants to be human again her has to become the first person he spoke to as himself, not the doll, which happens to be a 5 year old boy. for the time it was made, i can see it being quite entertaining, but there was nothing brilliant in the film, it wasnt scary, allthough the doll is a little creepy at some points, but its more scary when its not killing people. this film was made before i was born, but im not against old horror films, infact my favourite horror films are from the 70's and 80's, but still it doesnt quite have the edge that some films did of that era. i brought this film based on the good reviews i seen on here, i seen seed of chucky and wasnt impressed, but i was willing to see what film started it off, to have a couple of sequels you have to start with something good right? well, it is the best out of the lot, although i havent seen the 2nd, and isnt drastically terrible and is worth a watch. if you like this film type in dummy on play.com, i havent seen it, but ive heard good things about it, i might buy it myself.
wana play!!!!!!!

I watched this when it was first out at the end of the eighties and i thought it was a great film. The idea was excellent and although it did get pulled from shelves after a certain high profile child murder in the UK i am glad its back to buy cos i like it even more now i am older.
There's a good bit of humour as well as frights in there and well worth £5.......sequels as per usual are rubbish!!
HI I'M CHUCKY, WANNA PLAY?

This is a must for any serious horror fan out there, a film that has been ripped off many times but never equaled!! Chucky is a seriously messed up little doll, you'll find your self looking at the kid's doll's in a very different way after this!!!! 10 out of 10!!

Hello fright fans, here we have another "Classic" unconventional Horror/Slasher movie. Unconventional and also controversial due to the chosen subject matter. Namely a "Killer Good Guy Doll" who go's by the name of "Chucky" who's likes to indulge in the murder and torture of men women and children. It's notoriety hit it's peak with intense media coverage. To the average casual viewer it's just a killer doll on the rampage "blahh blahhh blahhh", but for the smarter viewer there's lots to enjoy. For example you get a deranged serial killer trapped inside a doll's body which alone provides plenty of wicked humour. Chucky's Plastic Body is brought to life with frightening realism and when he speaks it's always colorful. That's right, a children's toy that spews profanities so nasty, he gave parents all over the world nightmares when he made his debut on our screens in 1988. He's the scariest piece of plastic you'll ever see, he slices - dices - cuts - slits - carves and suffocates - i think you get the drift by now. Zombie says for this one -If you wanna see a Child's Toy swearing, torturing and killing people, you've come to the right place, say hello to "CHUCKY" the psycho doll, embrace his cuteness, his wickedness, but "DON'T LET YOUR KIDS WATCH IT".
a good kind of weird

this film is really a comedy, how can anyone take a talking doll seriously? This has all the stuff to make a classic film.
