Kraftwerk: Minimum / Maximum (2 Discs)

In 1975 I wandered into Bristol's first Virgin record shop and purchased 'Autobahn' from a grubby hippy. That record sleeve gave no hint, no pictures as to what the then Kraftwerk duo 'Ralf and Florian' actually looked like. (Years later they would have a number one with the Model, but the video to that, included on this DVD, did not show the group. I bought every album in the intervening years-they have always been ahead of their time like Apollo 440 are these days, but never saw Kraftwerk on TV or in concert. Bill Bailey did a Kraftwerk routine on his Part Troll DVD and Lo.. the real Kraftwerk on this DVD are the same, 4 men standing on stage in a row with a lectern in front of each one and a giant video screen behind them. The videos range from B & W film from the 30's 40's and 50's to computer graphics in the style of 'Tron' That's it really, the greatest hits are all here, somehow timeless and that's plain daft when you consider 4 decades of music are being mixed and matched, every Kraftwerk fan will have a surround sound set-up at home anyway and will really enjoy the faultless presentation of familiar tracks in studio quality but clearly live versions; Sellafield gets a mention in Radio-Activity-Gordon Brown will be on your case, you German Techies.. If you like Kraftwerk you will know the tracks, if you've never heard of them watch this alone, your spouse or partner will think you're weird if they catch you watching it, ahh, Kraftwerk!! they're still ahead of their time.

As i am a Kraftwerk fan,when this dvd came available through Play.com i ordered it straight away,when it arrived a few days later i tried it on my Sony-STR595 home cinema,through DTS,to say it is outstanding sound and picture quality is putting it mildly.It is the best 5.1 DTS dvd i have ever heard,its electric,it will send shivers down your spine.It seems to bring the best out of my Sony -STR595. Absolutley Recomend ..5 stars at least.

I purchased this from play.com as soon as it became available. I've been into Kraftwerk since I was about 13. This double DVD is just awesome, more so through a home cinema system as it's in DTS

They come on stage, play their music and walk off. they wear smart clothing, which is more than I can say for todays bands who just wear ripped t shirts or jeans

I just hope that they continue to create new albums, I will always be there to buy them

I was lucky to catch Kraftwerk at The Royal Festival Hall around the time that this DVD was recorded.
The only downside was 2 idiots sitting in front of us chatting through out the show.
So when this DVD came out I saw the same set but without the mindless fools chatting other the top of the music and actually enjoyed it more than the actual gig.
I love the fact it's stretched over 2 discs for optimum sound and vision quality aswell.
Mind blowing 10 out of ten!!!!!
