The ultimate DVD presentation of the ultimate Hong Kong gangster action movie!
A simple but compelling tale of two brothers - Ho Tse Sung (Ti Lung), a successful counterfeiter, and Kit Sung (Leslie Cheung), a rookie graduate of the Hong Kong Police Academy - the plot focuses on Woo's favourite themes of honour, brotherhood and loyalty.
Incarcerated after a deal goes wrong, on his release from prison Ho decides it is time to go straight. However, he is coerced back into a life of crime by his former associates and his need to help his best friend and former right-hand man Mark (Chow Yun-Fat), who has fallen on hard times. Ho is also attempting to reconcile his relationship with his policeman brother, who blames him for the death of their father and is coming under increasing pressure from his superiors because of his familial links to organised crime.
A series of heists, double-crosses and shoot-outs lead to a climactic battle in which two men find themselves fighting for their lives and their honour...

John Woo's Hong Kong films are so much better than his hollywood films.
This has a lot of good action in it with lots of violents.
Also with a very good story line, and good acting.
Not a good source

this is the optimum asia release, whats that matter? well quite a bit actually I bought it solely for the commentary track, however it turns out that this edition of the film is from Germany & as a result has several cuts (approx 4 minutes worth) when compared to the older release on the 'Hong Kong Classics' label
conclusion get this if you want to hear a good commentary track, but track down the older release (which appears to be increasingly difficult to find in most retail outlets) to see the less chopped edition
