DVD - Reet, Petite And Gone (Movie): Louis Jordan was born on July 8th, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas; regarded as the father of modern R&B he played alto sax with Chick Webb from 1936-1938. After that he formed the Tympany Five Band and started pouring out his long series of dance/ R&B hits.
