Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion, animated feature follows the story of Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride, while his real bride, Victoria, waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colourful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It's a tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in classic Burton style.

After the huge success of 1993's Nightmare Before Christmas, many people questioned Tim Burtons ability to turn out another successful stop motion animation movie. The most important thing about this film is nothing like Nightmare was. The story is still a childs film, full of innocence and music, but it is a complete must for any Burton fans. His typical trademarks are all over this film, not only visually but also in the storylines. With Johnny Depp and Helena Banham Carter on the cast list the dream team manage to pull yeat another one out of the bag and bring a fairytale to life in the most imaginitve way possible.
