Quite possibly the finest television series ever produced. 12 gems chronicling the key points of the Apollo space program. Arguably mankinds greatest undertaking.
At it's time, the most expensive single series made, and the money is on screen each and every second. From Michael Kamen's soaring theme music, to the flawless turns of it's often stella cast. To the sets and special effects.
Each episode deals with a key moment in man's journey, from the Earth to the Moon. From the fire on Apollo 1, the development of the LEM, to the 1st Moon landing itself and the last man to set foot on its surface.
The only negative worth speaking of is the special features disk is a little disapointing, the amount of material on it doesn't warrant it's own disk.
For anyone who is even slightly interested in the story of space or humanities potential. This is a lasting testemony, to those men who dreamed the impossible and made it happen, for the good of all mankind.
This is fantastic !

This is my most treasured (and viewed) boxed set.
I grew up in the 60's and followed the space race avidly. I watched Neil Armstrongs' "One small step" on telly like millions of others as a completely gripped 10 year old. This superb retelling completely recaptures the spirit of that age.
Show your children the Saturn 5 lift off sequence in the episode "1968", and have the DTS surround sound volume up full and it will blow your house down !
Absolutely a must have - in an age where we don't have adventures like that anymore.....
Make us all proud

Being a big fan of Apollo 13, I saw this title and when I just had to have it. Tom Hanks is a fantastic producer and this is an amazing mini series.
The whole space exploration subject amazes most people including myself.
A real must for anyone who is interested in the history of Space and the race it involved.
A very touching and worth while DVD set.
And the price on here is amazing too.
