Twilight is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.

Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance.

To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?

I saw a trailer for Twilight which appealed to me, I can't explain why. So my mate and I took the trip to the cinema and I have to admit, it was better than I expected. A truly beautiful love story and yet the modern and supernatural twists made this a romantic and in some places, comic film.
The trailer didn't do the film justice. I forced 3 unwilling friends and 4 similarly unwilling family members who have varied tastes in films and whose ages varied from 12 to 48, to see it and they all liked it for different reasons.
The books are also brilliant. I wanted to see what all the hype was about with these novels and so, invested in the first of the quadrilogy. It is different to the film, make no mistake, but you will be drawn in to the story. The book provides more insight into the Cullen family as the story unfolds. Neither the book or the film out shine the other when compared.
Since reading Twilight, I have gone on to read the other three books; New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking dawn. I advise you to do the same. You have a lot to look forward to. I honestly believe that you cannot be dissapointed by these novels'. The author; Stephenie Meyer is brilliant and I hope she carries on writing to this high standard!

Having read all the books I was a bit wary of how the film would turn out, how wrong I was.
I am not your typical Twilight fan being the wrong side of 35 and old enough to be most of the film cast's mother!! But so help me I am hooked...
Casting Robert Pattinson as Edward was perfect, his smouldering looks just had me from the start!!
If you havn't seen this you really must I am so looking forward to the dvd release and waiting patiently for the New Moon film to start rolling...fingers crossed it will be as good as Twilight.
Brilliant, roll on April :-)

Went to see this at the cinema near the end of January and was totally blown away. The chemistry and sexual tension between Edward and Bella was so forceful it got my heart going (and let's just say I'm old enough to know better). Came out absolutely obsessed and went and bought all four books which I've read in less than a fortnight. Have been back to see it twice more and having read Twilight could see just how spot on the acting really is. I think you have to have read the book to understand Edward's reaction in the Biology class. Each role was played brilliantly & I just hope all the actors stay on board for the entire project. I just can't see how you could replace any of them.

Can't wait for the DvD (might as well get rid of my entire collection coz I know what I'll be watching for the foreseeable future). New Moon can't come quick enough & I pray we will get to read Midnight Sun.

Definitely Team Edward (but I wouldn't say no to a bit of Jasper or Carlisle either)

 Outstrips the book by far

Nine times out of ten I prefer books to movie adaptations of them. Not in this case. The film featured much more of that 'dreamy, hypnotic prose' promised by the book, and it stayed with me longer. It was weirdly wonderful, all the actors impressed me and I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out.
