A pretty much perfect animated film in every respect 'Wallace and Gromit' make the jump to the big screen in inimitable style. Already well-loved characters their feature debut is equally the match, if not better, than their previous televisual outings. Successfully maintaining it's home-grown sensibilities and very British sense of humour 'Were Rabbit' features a wider range of characters - including Ralph Fiennes on top comic form as Victor Quartermaine - and the film excels in every possible way. Full of one-liners, in-jokes and cinematic references and wonderfully homaging classic Hammer Horror films one viewing is simply not enough to take it all in. Even the story is well-conceived and is plotted and paced to perfection. As expected it looks wonderful and goes to show that CGI isn't always the obvious medium to choose. Suitable for all the family this is a film that will entertain all generations. And it's British...

This film is wicked.

Great animation (It took five years to make, and the were-rabbit had a mechincal device planted inside it so that the directors didn't have to touch it and make finger marks) that shows a painfully meticulous eye for detail, and a real love of creating.

A single line of dialogue of only a few words could take an entire day to create, and on average three seconds of screen-time would take a day to create.

This love is evident in every single frame of this film, and the little visual jokes that fill every scene to the brim are a perfect excuse to watch it over and over again.

Not only is it intolerably cute (like proper cute. Like you wanna hate it, but just cannot), but it's cheeky too...

(But not like you see the odd soap character tap someone's chest and go, 'O, cheeeeky' and hide their implausibly ugly smiles through their hands before a shopping trip in 'the ambiguous city' takes place)

... It's cheeky to the degree that you see Nick Park and Steve Box as the naughty boys of the class who stick mud in other people's lunchboxes and set jelly in the sinks.

O, and kids will probably love it, too.
