King Of The Hill is another animation hit from Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge, who also voices the starring character Hank Hill, a propane gas salesman in the fictional town Arlen, Texas. Hank is often besieged by the idiosyncrasies of society, but he finds (some) serenity in his home-life with his wife, substitute Spanish teacher Peggy, his awkward son Bobby and his live-in niece-in-law Luanne Platter. Adding flavor to the ordinary dish the series serves are Hank's friends, divorcee military barber Bill Dauterive, paranoid Dale Gribble (with an obsession with Government conspiracy theories) and the gibberish spouting Boomhauer.

Episodes Comprise:

1. Pilot
2. Square Peg
3. The Order Of The Straight Arrow
4. Hank's Got The Willies
5. Luanne's Saga
6. Hank's Unmentionable Problem
7. Westie Side Story
8. Shins Of The Father
9. Peggy The Boggle Champ
10. Keeping Up With Our Joneses
11. King Of The Ant Hill
12. Plastic White Female

Can't believe it is this cheap! Great series and the characters are very believable. One of the best animated series around, on par with Family guy

*KOTH (King of the Hill) was created by Mike Judge (Beavis & Butthead) and part written by former Simpsons writer Greg Daniels. The main character Hank Hill is loosely based on Mr Anderson from Beavis and Butthead. In the series we follow the exploits of Hank, his family and his amusing friends.
*Hank is very set in his ways and finds him-self being frustrated by the society he lives in. Despite his strong and often old-fashioned beliefs it is easy to sympathize with Hank. Each brilliantly written episode deals with a topic, often related to family matters or Hank growing older or his Son Bobby growing up.
*Fans of the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad will enjoy KOTH but be warned, the pace is a little slower. KOTH may attract a few extra older fans as it isnt as crude or surreal as American Dad or Family Guy. Some of the jokes are similar to the humour in the Simpsons, if not better!

Up there with the best, I tell you what...

I won't waste your time going on about The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park or Futurama. Chances are, you are already familiar with the charms of those shows. Each has its strengths, but King Of The Hill, Mike 'Beavis and Butt-head' Judge's subtle, brilliantly-observed and affectionate take on small-town life, stands apart. More so than any of the aforementioned shows, it takes its humour from the real world, from the situations all of us can relate to, with just the right dose of surrealism that anchors the show and keeps it away from the outlandishly ridiculous. It has a sweeter nature than Family Guy, The Simpsons or South Park, prompting regular chuckles instead of outright, but rare, belly laughs. The first season is just a taste of what's to come; when the show was still finding its feet, but all the fundamentals are there. There's a heart to this show, a poignancy that comes out more than any of its contemporaries, and it is the quintessential feel-good comedy series--it hits all the right notes. It earns its place in your DVD player through its ability to tug your heart strings as much as tickle your funny bone, and it's something KOTH only grows more adept at with each succeeding season. Criminally, KOTH was recently axed (the more Fox changes, the more it remains the same), in order to make room for more Family Guy, its spin-off, and American Dad!. Family Guy has earned its status, but KOTH deserved better, and if I had the choice between the two, I'd pick this. The animation is better than all the above shows, the writing is consistently astute and as poignant as it is funny, and maintains a mature subtlety throughout. It's just a beautiful series, in every way. This is rated as one of 'The Greatest Shows Of All Time'--and after you've paid Arlen, Texas a visit, you'll no doubt see why. Thanks for your time.

 Best animation there is...ever...

In my opinion this is the best animation out there. I'm a big fan of The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park etc etc but this beats them all.

I bought his boxset a couple of years ago and still watch the episodes on a regular basis...they never grow old!

The sooner you buy this the better!

 king of cartoons!

remember king of the hill? it was a great little tv cartoon what mike judge created after the classic beavis and butt head. it involves hank a texas gas salesman who has a wife called peggy and a son called bobby. its hilarious in a different way from how simpsons or family guy is. its slower and less hectic and you can find youre own laughs almost anywhere. its sort of an aquirred taste like the great mighty boosh but if you like it then king of the hill is one funny cartoon.
