Yes this is a chick flick, but what a film. Having visited Osbourne House many times to learn more about Victoria I had to buy this film. She was a lady who had a good sense of humour even though most thought she was a hard person. She loved Albert so much and the film captured this very nicely. One of the best royal's we will ever have. Tragedy befalls us all from time to time, nobody escapes. 10 out of 10.
Better than the average, almost

Okay, this one was not bad at all, very nearly a 4 star event, some strong and believable performances and a pleasantly surprising watch. It was however a little unspectacular, not in it's physical appearance which was shot and acted superbly, but just in the fact that not that much really happens as it is I suppose a fairly much guessed at portrayal of Victorias younger years, Worth a Sunday afternoon punt never the less.
Amazing love story

I watched this film yesterday and felt i had to comment. Wow! i saw the ads for it when it came out in the cinema and i was dying to see it. Being someone who had done research back in school about Victoria i always loved the story behind her relationship with her husband and how even after he died she mourned him everyday so i had high expectations and needless to say this film lived up to them in every way. Emily and Rupert capture the intense love felt by these two people especially towards the end of the film, but at the same time it shows the politics and control that Victoria had to deal with at such a young age. It is the ultimate chick flick that will make you smile and cry at the same time, and the lovely thing about the film is that it isnt a fairy tale, it is true and in some ways tragic. A definite must for any girl/women!
