This is the first in two series.
The first episodes are good, then it seems to waiver a little and picks up towards the end.
Overall it is very very good. The only thing with is that the second series is IMHO (in my humble opinion) better.
Really recommend this and it is something that anyone in the family could watch (if over 15)
Is there life on Mars???

Is there life on Mars???
Watching this program you really wouldn't care, it is.... Absoultely....OUSTANDING!!!!
This show is about Sam Tyler who in 2006 got hit by a car and wakes up in 1973. Where he goes to his workpalce and see that there are completely different people there.
He doesn't know if he is in a "comma, mad or back in time" to quote form the opening title sequence. If your a fan of gripping Tv Shows that have you on the edge of your seat every second then you should definatly buy this!!!
If your a fan of 70's cop programs then this is for you, eventually you sort of forget about sams' comma story because each episodes please storyline is pure Genius Writting and acting.
Just buy it, its a great show to have in your collection.
Is he mad, in a coma or back in time?

This is one of the best TV Boxsets ever. It's about Sam Tyler a detective in the 21st century who had a car accident and woke up in 1973. He finds himself working with DCI Gene Hunt who likes to use his fist to get results. Gene is very funny and comes out with some great one liner. It's a must have Boxset staring John Simm, Phillip Glenister, Liz White, Dean Andrews and Marshall Lanchster. It has a great story line to it in every episode. I don't really like cop shows but this one is so good that I've watch it back to back 4 times.
Absolutly Immense

I began watching Ashes to Ashes recently and thought how good it was compared to anything else on TV today. I thnought to myself... well lkife on mars must be worth watching. I lost my life for the next week and a half as i became enthralled in tales of time travel, crime and general misdemeanours with an amusing twist. I can honestly say that this is the best TV series i have ever watched and think many of you would agree. John Simm as Sam Tyler was a class apart and as for Phillip Glenister as DCI Gene Hunt, hes almost aspirational for many a male watching.
Aparently what makes it so special is the realism to the 1970's. Well as i come from the late 80's im clueless to this yet still believe that this programme takes drama to a new level.
Buy it buy it buy it... you wont be disappointed.
Excellent!

I loved this when it came on the BBC and I am still gutted that there was only two series of it as although I wouldn't have wanted it to get tedious a third would have been great but aside from that this series is so interesting to watch each week and so well written as well. The whole concept of a modern policeman in an old fashioned setting was pure genius, I myself didn't even grow up in the era of classic cop dramas. I was only born in the late 80's but I have watched may of them and loved but I dont think that you have to be nostalgic for those classic shows to watch this series. Its just great and thoroughly recommend it.
Brilliant!

Best UK crime tv series in a long time, John Sims is great in this, but the best actor by far is Philip Glenister; he plays Gene Hunt to a T! A brilliant series, and definately recommended to view, ASAP!
Outstanding!

I love the Idea of Sam, a police officer from 2006 on his journey through the '70's trying to return to the present day.Is he in a coma, Is he a 'timetraveller' or is he just insane.I am only 14 and I find this series gripping and stunning. A must buy for a drama and/or comedy lover. Brilliant acting from all the actors including:John Simm as Sam Tyler, Phillip Glenister as D.C.I Gene Hunt. The best T.V Drama from 2006.
Whackingly Brilliant

Best British T.V. series of the last five years, bar none. Absolutely incredible in terms of plot, drama, comedy, seriousness and light-heartedness intertwined, and mystery. Gene Hunt is rightly a legend and you cannot fail to enjoy a character that takes us all back to somewhere a whole lot more desirable - where common sense was the way to go and political correctness had not been invented. It will intrigue you, make ya laugh and make you cry all at the same time. If you haven't seen it, buy this and spend a lazy day in bed watching them all.
wow... amazing

normally i'm not really into cop/police related shows, so when i heard of this show i missed it first time round. Now it being on cable tv i've been watching and since seeing the second episode i am hooked. Staying up late watching 5 episodes a night... It's more than amazing!
This show has great humor, action, drama and more... Such a great show! A total must see!!!
