Review

24 is an innovative television drama, where the entire series takes place in one day. Each of the 24 episodes covers one hour, told in real time.

18 months after day 3, CTU has a new leader, Erin Driscoll, a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities. After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller and also is romantically involved with Heller's married daughter, Audrey Raines, suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll. Jack believes that the train explosion is a prelude for bigger things to come...

This season starts well and just goes from strength to strength. There are enough character changes and new actors brought in to eliminate the déjà vous in previous seasons. The writers don't push the bounds of coincidence and credibility too far, which makes the storyline much more believable than the previous season. Having said that, if you are going to write a single story to occupy 16 hours of Tv, credibility and coincidence are bound to be pushed a bit! Taste will vary, but for me they got it just right. The season grabs you right from the start and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Once again, superb acting from Sutherland, with strong support from the other actors. Absolutely made for watching back-to-back, so great to have on DVD.

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Not the best Season, but still good.

There are some high points in this Season, but unlike most other days in the life of Jack Bauer, this Season revolves solely around the same main plot and it does become a little boring. The high points I mentioned are some awesome set pieces and the return of some old faces. Although it's perhaps the weakest Season in my opinion it is still very good and worth a watch, and if this is the weakest, it just goes to show how good the other Days are.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Excellent from the first minute.

Just finished watching it last night. Gripping series which is every bit as good if not better than its predecessors right from the first episode. Thankfully there was no sign of Kim Bauer and therefore she wasnt continually kidnapped which was a welcome bonus. There was however plenty of action and a good storyline so if you are thinking of buying it , I would certainly say its money well spent.
