Final Season. This is misleading as it's actually the 2nd part of season 4, but Playback have no immediate plans to release the complete season 4 anytime soon.
The reason they have no release date for the entire season 4 collection is that licensing has forced them to release it as SKY1 did, in two parts. this is of course thanks to the Writers Strike, so Season 4 is season 4 and the second part is called the Final season, this now means that because of some strange licensing agreement and probably something to do with royalties with the writers .
The complete series can't be put together for some time (I won't pretend that I understand).
So what happens now is that the season 4 and Final season gets released just like how SKYONE broadcasted the original series 4 .
Though I was going to wait for the complete season, I now think that I should bite the bullet and purchase both separately.
As yet, due to licensing, there are no plans for universal-playback to release the two parts of season 4 (sold as season 4 & the final season) as one complete set, however, playback have announced on their website that later this year they will be release a collectors limited edition metal box set which will not only hold every battlestar episode including the mini series but will be rammed full of never before and exclusive extras.
So this boxset will contain the remaining episodes currently (at the time of writing this) being shown on tv and NOT the first 10 which are available in another set.Obviously a blatant cash in but a great sci-fi show all the same and hopefully these last episodes will wrap up the story line in a suitable manor.Personally,I'm going to hold out for the inevitable FULL season 4 boxset which will no doubt plummet in price to a more respectful sub £20 mark (I never paid more than £18 for the previous 3 boxsets of the earlier seasons).The show itself is worth probably 4.5 stars,but I only give it 3 because it's only half a season.
This is NOT the complete 4th season as suggested by the title, but only the last half of the season.

this is the second part of season, just bought and when it arrived i went to watch it and realised that this is not season 4 but the final episodes of season 4 and is missing the first 10 episodes, i feel that this has been missold by play bigtime!!!!while i love the show might have to buy it elsewhere
