Set in the sprawling London metropolis, Gina McVey (Lena Headey), is a beautiful thirty something who works as a radiologist at a large hospital. At a surprise birthday party for her father we meet the people most important in her life. During the dinner party a mirror falls from the wall and smashes. The superstition of seven years bad luck creates a palpable tension in the air as they all clean up the debris.
The next day, on her way home, Gina sees herself drive past in her own car. Thrown, she follows the car and the woman up to her apartment, where Gina finds a photo of her father with her double. Shocked and bewildered, Gina flees the apartment and while driving away

Ignore the one star review, the last couple of years have seen the horror genre explode in a way that hardly seemd possible at the height of the BBFC witchhunt of a couple of decades back, what that means is that one has to sift through an awful lot of rubbish to unearth the odd little gem like this. Frankly, I didn't think Sean Ellis had it in him, I wasn't impressed by his debut feature, the ambituous but somewhat pretentious 'Cashback' and ignored this follow-up until recently. My bad, for all it echoes of other genre classics - The Man Who Haunted Himself and the various Bodysnatchers films - this is as good a psychological horror as I've seen in the last 5 years; creepy, atmospheric, unpredictable and beautifully shot. It's got far more in common with (the original) 'The Haunting' than 'Saw XV' - if you find that boring then that's an indictment of you rather than this fine film.
I'm not a natural horror fan - people going around with a chainsaw doesn't usually do it for me. I quite enjoyed this more cerebral horror though. The scary bits were very, very scary and the big build-up to them makes them even more so. I haven't seen Lena Headey since Parole Officer, she and the rest of the cast really make the film.
dont get me wrong it was an interesting view, and the way suspense is built up is excellent. the car crash scenes are vivid and well done. however... i still feel that it was confusing. its never really explained as to why the people from the mirror possess other peoples lives. think i would of enjoyed it more if that question was answered. other then that, it was really good :)
Wow factor cinematography and a slick psychological script, backed-up by natural acting. Loved every second. London the perfect setting - grey and monochrome. A thinking man's Invasion of the Body Snatchers, beautifully delivered from a new perspective. If our souls exist outside of our brains, can we be truly cloned? Can memories be duplicated? Are we machines? I totally recommend this movie - it's gorgeous!
I don't know what you expect when you watch a film but I would like to think it would need to be good enough not to make you turn it off from boredom, poor movie, also not scary in the slightest
