Stephen Fry returns to the role of Peter Kingdom, a wise, warm-hearted solicitor in the small Norfolk town of Market Shipborough. With a remarkable ability to remain cool-headed in the most fraught circumstances, Peter Kingdom is often the man to go to with any problem, legal or otherwise, and many locals do.

It's a time of great change in the offices and household of the Kingdom family. Peter has become Uncle Peter to his missing brother's child; there are lighthouse mysteries and brotherly burger wars; pilot paternity and sex shop shenanigans. Meanwhile Lyle his trainee solicitor is up to his bulging eyeballs in nudists and Peter's sister is about to bring a new stranger home. Ted the pub landlord and the remarkably quirky Sidney Snell are bringing complaints aplenty to the Kingdom offices and, in the midst of these average days in a small Norfolk town, the presence of Peter's prodigal brother Simon is felt once more in several unexpected ways.

Consisting of six full-length episodes, this richly entertaining second series of Kingdom features guest appearances by Richard Briers, Miriam Margoyles, Diana Quick and Richard Wilson.

'Kingdom' is one of those series that you think will be around forever. It's witty and warm, and never fails to raise a laugh or three. The DVDs are well worth getting because, let's face it, there isn't much gentle comedy around these days.
