Never-before-seen footage has been added to the story of the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a cyborg sent back through time, who joins forces with Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), a woman haunted by nightmares of mankind's inevitable nuclear destiny. Together, they must protect her son John (Edward Furlong) - the boy destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future - from the deadliest machine ever created, the liquid metal T-1000 (Robert Patrick).

'Terminator 2: Judgement Day - Ultimate Edition' restores over fifteen minutes of additional material to the original theatrical release of the film, including Sarah Connor's vision of the late Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), the reprogramming of the Terminator by John and Sarah, and the obsession of Miles Dyson (Joe Morton) to create the computer chip that could lead the world to nuclear destruction. These scenes, and more, enchance this tour de force of astounding visuals and powerful emotions to create a compelling new version of one of the biggest hits of all time.

Fewer ideas, but more entertaining than the original.

Like most Cameron movies, this starts slowly and saves all the massive set-pieces for the final hour. The effects may no longer wow quite as much as they used to, but the action is still incredible.

 Cameron does it again !

This is one of those rare times that a sequel is better than the original ...a bit like Aliens which just also happens to be written and directed by Cameron ....this was (at the time) the most expensive movie of all time and it shows and still holds up pretty well after 17 years....God has it really been that long !

In 1991 nobody had not seen special effects like this. The morphing still stand up well today. And if it was not for this film we would not not have the likes of Jurassic Park and other amazing effects. Cameron perfected the effects first seen two years before in his under-rated underwater epic The Abyss. But is the film better than the first ? The only way to judge that is to strip away the massive budget, the amazing effect and outstanding action. Whats left is a slightly bloated remake of the first that sags heavely in the middle. These are minor faults in what is still a ultimate blockbuster event movie !

One of the Best Sequels of all time, much better than the Classic Original, which really is saying something.
The reason the movie is so special is due to a few factors, the foremost one being the amazing Special Effects, using the Technology to Morph Humans and Objects.
It really revolutionized everything.
Another reason is that they really worked on the story, otherwise anyone can make a movie with Action and SFX. The story really takes you on an Intriguing, Intense and very Adventurous journey, with hardly any pointless moments.
The ACTION Sequences are Mind Blowing even in 2010, in 1991 when I watched this at the Cinema, they literally made my jaw Drop.
The Motorbike and Truck chase has in my opinion not been bettered since, the One Hand Shotgun reload that Arnie does during the sequence, makes you wanna break into applause, it really is that cool. The Shoot Out at the end is brilliantly choreographed.
The Music also plays a big part in the movie and adds a very real sense of menace, and I'm not just referring to the Iconic Theme Tune.
Coming to the performances, everyone is Perfectly Cast. Arnie is not the best actor in the world, but this is his best performance.
Linda Hamilton is just pure Badness, her attitude, her acting, her body, the works, she is a total revelation compared to the first movie.
Edward Furlong is perfectly cast as the awkward but in the know Teen. Robert Patrick is terrifying real as the all Morphing emotionless machine.
But I think the person who deserves the most credit is Director James Cameron, who has tried to push the boundaries of technology with every film he has made.
He is not the sort of director that waits for the technology, he actually goes out and invents it.
Terminator 2 is clearly the best movie in the Terminator Quadrilogy, and remains in my Top 5 Action Movies of All time.
