 superb DVD

I absolutly crnt wait for the dvd ive been watching it on itunes for a few weeks but its so bloody expensive on it so i thought id wait for the dvd. If you didnt like the comic then you probably wont like this dvd. Its basicly the comic page for page word for word but using the comic frames in a sort of stop motion animation. For watchmen fans you need this it really highlights some of the things that you might miss out on when reading the novel. Since gibbons has had a lot to do with this project it really gives you the sense of somthing special. Ive never seen anything like this before the animation is superb and really gives you the cinematic experience that the novel does in the panels.

Pre order this one now before it get expensive roll on march 6

I saw this advertised and the thought of a motion comic fascinated me, so whilst I was waiting for the movie to come out, thought I would try this. For a superhero story, this is totally different to anything you will have seen or read before, I certainly see what all the fuss is about. This is a great story about an alternate world where superheoes are a normal sight. OK, this is basically a narrated comic book with very basic animation, and to be honest just having one narrator who can't do a multitude of voices can be offputting (especially on female characters), but these are not enough to make it any less than 5 stars. So 5 hours for less than £8 is a must buy bargain, only hope the new movie lives up to this.

 Great!

Very very good. Animation is great, much better than expected. The voices are all done by one guy, but I personally think he does an amazing job. The voices are all pretty much spot on. I read the graphic novel a few years ago and I thought it was great, but I think that I enjoyed this even more. The addition of music, voices, sound effects and animation really bring it to life.

Excellent, but with one minor flaw

This is an excellent DVD, well animated and true to the comic book.
The minor flaw ? : - Like other reviewers, I felt they could have hired an actress to voice the women in the book.
The complete motion comic does include "The Tales of the Black Freighter" as part of the story as well.

Great but could have done with a female voice.....

A really great way of presenting the graphic novel. I'd love to see The Dark Knight Returns done this way.

My only quibble is they really should have got an actress to do the female voice parts!!! As the narrator attempting to do a female voice makes the whole thing seem a little silly.....
