After the release of Jake Blues from prison, he and brother Elwood go to visit the orphanage where they were raised by nuns. They learn that the Church stopped its support and will sell the place to the education authority, and the only way to keep the place open is if the tax on the property is paid within 11 days. The brothers want to help, and decide to raise money by putting their blues band back together and staging a big gig. They may be on a mission from God, but they're making enemies everywhere they go.

I love the Blues Brothers! I bought the LaserDisc years ago, and then the Region 1 release when it came out. The R1 release is 2hrs 28mins and includes extra footage compared to what was shown in cinemas. I then bought the original Region 2 release because of the better picture quality than the R1(!). The version of BB on that was 2hrs 22mins long and is actually the same version of the film, but has a shorter running time because PAL plays at 25 frames per second and NTSC effectively at 24.
Anyway, I had hoped that this would be the same version as my LaserDisc, which is 2hrs 7mins long. Unfortunately it's NOT 2hrs 7mins long, despite what the details might say: it's the same length (and therefore version) as the other DVD releases I've got.
Still, definitely worth buying if you've not got it already!
A TOTAL CLASSIC

Yeah so its showing its age a bit , but the story and comedy , and the added music is a total recipe for an addictive film, i love the sound track and the stupid humour, that's what it's about ...ENJOY !!!
Everyone should watch this just for the car chase, which was one of the most expensive one of it,s time and probably still is !!!
