In this adaptation of Terry Southern's offbeat novel, an eccentric millionaire adopts a down-and-out vagrant he stumbles upon in the park as his son. The pair embark on a series of practical jokes and elaborate stunts designed to expose the wanton greed that exists in everybody - and prove that everyone has his price.

This is just wonderful if you remember the 'anything to shock you' years of the 1960s. Peter Sellers as Guy Grande is the richest man in the world. He is an elite, sophisticated character (just as he plays so well in 'A Girl in My Soup') whilst Ringo Starr is his adopted son found sleeping rough in Hyde Park.
Grande has a desire to prove that everyone has their price even though that price may involve taking part in some quite exceptional, and occassionally revolting, activities. The point is proven most convincingly in the final scene of this amusing very 60s production.
The film will appear a little strange on first viewing if you are new to this era of movie making however each scene will leave you wondering whatever can they come up with next. The bribing of the Oxford team to fix the boat race is probably the highlight of the film. On the other hand every act is unique so pick your own favourite. Which ever you choose, the film is highly enjoyable.
