It's a wonderful afterlife.
When David (Mark Ruffalo) rented his quaint San Francisco apartment, the last thing he expected - or wanted - was a roommate. He had only begun to make a complete mess of the place when a pretty but decidedly controlling young woman names Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) suddenly shows up, adamantly insisting the apartment is hers. David assumes there's been a giant misunderstanding...until Elizabeth disappears as mysteriously as she appeared. Changing the locks does nothing to deter Elizabeth, who begins to appear and disappear at will - mostly to rebuke David for his personal living habits in her apartment.
Convinced she is a ghost, David tries to help Elizabeth cross over to the 'other side'. But when Elizabeth discovers she does have a distinctly ethereal quality - she can walk through walls - she is equally convinced that she is somehow still alive and isn't crossing over anywhere. As Elizabeth and David search for the truth about who Elizabeth is and how she came to be in her present state, their relationship deepens into love. Unfortunately, they have very little time before their prospects for a future together permanently fade away.

David rents a simple apartment expecting to hide from his life when he finds that he is being closely watched by a young doctor named Elizabeth.
One of those films you chuck on when theres nothing else on. Predictable like most RomComs, but done nicely.
Highly recommended to fans of 13 Going On 30.

Top 10 DVD Reviewer
As someone who usually watches Drama/Action genres, I did not really plan to watch this, but am so thankful that I did. This leaves the standard formula of a romance film, going towards the supernatural resulting in a wonderfully warm film. The 'ghost' (Reese Witherspoon) and flat-intruder Mark Ruffalo blend beautifully and develop a very unique relationship. I don't believe this is merely a 'chick-flick', anyone should try this for a nice heartwarmer!
