I imagine that this movie is "loosely based on fact" but I enjoyed it very much. I get goosebumps listening to Biggies music so I watched this with the volume/bass levels on max. Enjoyed the story & acting and would reccommend to any music fan. RIP Big.

Notorious starts out and is what you'd expect it to be, a hollywood production trying to show the rougher and tougher side of the street life. The movie feels like a movie, it has a fictional vibe about it, it comes across like the movie 8 Mile with the young man getting away from the gutter and wanting to make it big.
Without knowing that Norotious BIG, Puff Daddy, Tupac and so on were real people you'd just think they was your average rap based film.
The story is quite true, it doesn't portray Biggie as a good guy and it doesn't portray him as a tough thug. It just shows him for who he is, he's neither the villain now the hero.

Overall: It's a good film, it's very entertaining and enjoyable but it has its downfalls. The fact its your average rapper story is a shame, it would've been nice to have a much more genuine vibe.
I'd recommend this to others.

 Top film.

This film is really really good, not sure how accurate the facts are but it sucks you in all the way through. For fans of hip-hop it's a must have i would probably give it the edge over 8mile. Also there was some philopsopy added to this film which really is quite thought provoking at times.

Loved the film so I had to buy it on DVD. This film makes you feel for the two mothers of two of the most iconic and celebrated rappers EVER, even if you do not like rap music you should still take a look at this film as it is worth watching and I think that the Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur should have their names remembered forever as they are both legends.

Would of rated this film 10/10 but the ratings only go up to 5 :(
This film contains Violence and nudity which may offend some viewers.

 Not brilliant

If is wasn't for the constant name dropping when talking to each other this film could have been about any rapper struggling to get his break. Much preferred 8 mile or Get rich or die tryin but if your after a fact based film that's not bad try Tupac - redemption

 A very very good movie

Was expecting good things from the movie as I am a biggie fan and I wasn't let down. Really enjoyed the story and it's one of those films where every character grabs your attention. I've seen a lot of negativity towards the Tupac role but I guess this is how the Bad Boy camp saw the situation at the time. But overall a very good watch and would recommend seeing it.

 B.I.G. deserves B.E.T.T.E.R.

Many complain that the film plays fast and loose with the facts, but that's not the main problem with the film. This could have been a brilliant life story, as the subject matter of the man and the myth has truly great potential. What lets the film down is the story is too sketchy and never gets under the skin, and really does feel like a made for TV movie. It's the second half of the film with the war between Bad Boy Records and the west coast Death Row Records that the film really does start to grip, but it's a case of too little too late, as we all know that at this point in his life was the beginnig of the end. What makes the film worth watching is the good performances, and brilliant music.
It may not be the movie that the B.I.G. Man truly deserved, but if you like your music, then it's well worth watching.
