Anyway, a good movie, a good story, nice visuals, certainly had me thinking about it a few days later , not quite enough action for me, but its not really about that. Worth a watch, left me wanting to see more of the Meanwhile City character/story, maybe a sequel? Give it go.
Engrossing - yet annoying narration

I found myself being continually ousted out of my absorption by the annoyingly overplayed American drone of Phillippe's narration. I loved the characterisation in this movie, however, apart from understanding the need to sell the movie in the US, could not understand the significance of Phillippe's involvement. Meanwhile city looked a bit like expensive stage scenery - yet the performances from the real actors in this movie drove through the concept well and it was delightfully shot.
Brit-flick that rocks!

Unfairly ignored in the theatres, Franklyn is an intriguing dark fantasy that reminded me of Brazil and Dark City, two other films that tanked at the box office before garnering a cult audience on video.
The slick transitions between the dreamlike Meanwhile City and modern London in the film really work and the costume, set design and CGI effects are astonishing when you factor in the modest budget the movie had. For £6 Million, most British hacks would cobble together a Rom-Com or, worse still, a lacklustre Gangster flick, with all the attendant cliches.
Director Gerald McMorrow is to be congratulated on his creation, as Franklyn, though imperfect in places, tries to do something fresh and interesting, both with the Fantasy elements of the story and for British Cinema.
