Alternating between comedic and dramatically moving this feels like a rather unique viewing experience where the entire life of the character that Jim Carrey portrays (that of Truman Burbank) is part of a reality TV show televised and broadcast for the entire world to see. With arguably such an almost iconic film as this I was delighted to see it eventually gain a worthy 'special edition' release replete with a collection of specially created extras. So how much do we get? Well the making of feature under the title "How's it going to end?" which is split into 2 parts running to about 42 minutes effectively covers pretty much all aspects of the film whilst a second feature 'Faux Finishing' (about 13 minutes) focuses on the visual effects element of "The Truman Show". You've also got roughly 13 minutes of Deleted/Extended scenes, a couple of trailers and tv spots plus a photo gallery containing 40 images. As a single disc release I personally am more than happy with the contents which certainly does true justice to a unique, enjoyable, moving and at times thought provoking film and is a worthy addition to my DVD collection.
