C.S. Lewis' timeless adventure The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings - Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter. Set in World War II England the children enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of 'hide-and-seek' in the rural country home of an elderly professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to overcome the White Witch's powerful hold over Narnia in a spectacular, climactic battle that will free Narnia from Jadis' icy spell forever.

This film is spectabular! From the imagery to the costumes to the graphics this film is outstanding!
In true Disney fashion, the children are brilliantly cast, especially Georgie Henley playing Lucy Pevensie she is just amazing!
Aslan is so life-like you could almost stroke him, and the beavers are brilliant. The graphics are really great and this really is a great adaptation. It is abit long, especially for children but it is definately worth watching, its a great family film. Parts of the film are rather frightening, especially for younger children.
This 2 disc set is brilliant because it is packed with over 10 hours of bonus features! i was literally sat there for hours on end, in awe at how they made all the scenery and costumes, there are behind the scenes featurettes and lots of interviews. This is jam packed with ace extras.
Brilliant film, amazing extras, definately worth buying!!!

     A VERY FAITHFUL ADAPTION!

This first film of the chronicles is very faithful to the book. The look is fantastic, and the story is enchanting as ever, and sets the story up well for the next chapters, but slightly misses the classic status that it could have been due to some very wooden leads. The lead characters are so dull, that it's hard to care about them. It's down to a brilliant nasty turn from Tilda Swinton to show the real life actors how to make every scene count, and she gives a brilliant and evil performance as the White Witch. But this film is about wounder and what short comings some the real life characters have are more than made up with the oustanding imagination used to create Narnia and it's creatures. Although to be honest some of the CGI used in the film could have been better. Although the film has the odd fault, this is family entertainment at it's best, and if you have young kids there is nothing to worry about, as this is the target audience the film is aimed at.
    Fantastic Family entertainment!

I have to say that whilst the film itself is excellent, the extras are not.
I do not know why someone has not mentioned the fact before, that there are is not 10 hours of running time.

To keep this short, Disc 1 has the main feature- running time 2h:17mins plus 5 mins of useless extras.

This means that to get a total of 10 hours entertainment you have to have nearly 8 hours on the second disc. No way you can get 8 hours on one disc (Maybe on Blu-Ray), but this set is not Blu-ray. There is actaully about 3 hous of extras on the second disc. Most of it is very short pieces of not very interesting material. I do not know how this set can be described as having 10 hours of entertainment on just two discs.
