When the rightful president of a former easten bloc country is attacked by rebles supporting the former leader, who stage events to turn the people against him, the small US marine contingent in the US embassy step in and rescue him. The rebels then turn their wrath on the Embassy and everyone inside. This is a standard JCVD affair, guns and kicks, you know the type, but there's a great plot running through this movie as escape plans fail, and the shrinking force of marines and civvies are out manovered at each turn, with Van Damn the only guy who knows what to do.. Think Blackhawk Down, Assault on Precinct 13, and Die Hard, just will 'alot' less budget.
