Set in the 1970s amidst the eruption of British-Irish conflicts, Breakfast On Pluto is a film from Oscar®-winning director Neil Jordan that stars 2006 Golden Globe®-nominee Cilian Murphy and Oscar®-nominee Liam Neeson.
Patrick "Kitten" Braden (Murphy) is abandoned as a baby and left on the doorstep of Father Bernard (Neeson). From a very young age, Patrick realizes he is different from the other boys but steadfastly refuses to change. When he grows up, Patrick decides to go in search of his real mother, who now lives in London. Thus begins a touching and funny journey that will lead him to the most unexpected place of all.
This is the second time that writer Pat McCabe and Neil Jordan have teamed up, the first being the wonderful collaboration on Butcher Boy.

This has got to be one of my favourite all time films.
Cillian Murphy plays Kitten fantastically.
He should have won an Oscar with that performance!
A must see!

I thought this film was amazing. It's one of those films you will either love or hate and only with several viewings can it be fully appreciated. The soundtrack is full of quirky tunes and adds to the overall feel of the film. Cillian Murphy is fantastic in the role of 'kitten' and the viewer is happily carried along with the protagonist as we follow him on his adventures. A real gem i would recommend this film to anyone who fancys something a little bit different from the norm- also Brendan Gleeson nearly steals the show when he performs the womble dance!

Cillian Murphy is the only person who could have played the part of Kitten and you really believe and care about the character.
Based on the novel by Patrick McCabe it follows the story of Irish Transvestite Patrick Braden AKA Kitten who goes off to London to search for his mum (phantome lady) who abandoned him when he was born. Funny and sometimes tragic it follows him on his journey of self discovery.
I thought it was a gem of a film and really would recommend
