Maybe i'm just easily pleased, but considering the recent spout of awful comic book films (Hulk, Punisher, Cat women), I really liked this.
There have obviously been some really amazing comic book flicks like x-men, spiderman, superman and the new batman films. But a lot have been big-budget flops that just didnt live up to anything.
Man-thing doesnt take itself too seriously though, and its obviously on the lower-budget side of things, but its actually quite fun to watch and thankfully on the darker side.
The effects, locations and sets are quite impressive and do give that eery, swamp feel!
The acting leaves a lot to be desired at times, especially as one of the characters doesnt seem able to decide if shes American or Australian. But it does the job! Its a horror flick after all and mainly about shock, blood and death!
It is what it is!
Its better then a lot of more expensive marvel or DC films to be made recently!
Sigh

I suppose there's not much you can do with this marvel character except base him in a swamp and have him kill everyone. Did he kill in the comics? I can't recall..or did his touch burn you instead?
It does have it's moments though, and is lit with an eerie green whenever we venture into the swamp. It's also an updated version of the Man-Thing, with what looks like tree branches sticking out of it's back - as opposed to the bulbous red eyed version from the 70's with those three things hanging down...whatever they were...
man thing
