This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I can watch it over and over again and never grow tired of it as there is always somethign else new to spot, little hidden details which you wouldnt notice first time round.
Extremely highly recommended. This will not fail to impress, and is at a great price.

From the begining you notice the cgi, beutiful. 3D and 2D have never bonded this well. Then you are shown the story line and your like wow, I might have to watch this again just so am sure I haven't missd anything "it's great". Script hit bang on the nail couldn'tt ask for more. 4*'s because the ending was a bit shy but you know ther's a sequel. WATCH THIS FILM.

I agree with the above review perfectly! Great Cgi sequences, great animation and possibly one of the best intro soundtracks I've ever heard. My only problem was the story itself in certain places. For the first viewing you'll probably be concentrating mostly on the animation.

On my second viewing I did seem to notice that the film didn't explain important elements in the film to explain what was going on plot-wise and I became very lost, aswell as showing you a couple of scenes that were completely pointless and just weren't needed, but I kept on watching. Rather than spoon-feeding you the story, you need to keep a close eye on detail, especially the characters in order to understand the changes going on.

I haven't seen or heard of Karas before and I'm not an anime junky or anything, I just bought it to try out something different. Its definetly worth a viewing and I'm looking forward to Karas Vol.2 coming out in September!

Guaranteed to have you hooked within the first 5mins - this film delivers mind-blowing fight scenes at 200mph mixed in with some of the best animation and CGI i've seen in animé. The opening 10mins sets the pace of the film and at first - may seem a bit confusing but stick with it, it only builds on it's explosive start! The CGI is blended effortlessly into the already flawless animation when used and is used to the enhance the story rather than define it - a prime example would be Steamboy where I bought it because all the reviewers mentioned how good it looked...they didn't take notice of the very poor story though!

I won't mention too much about the actual story but it's about a lone hero defending Japan. Unfortunately as it's only Vol.1, we don't find out too much about the characters and their back stories but it is nicely set up for Vol.2 when it hits our shores Sept 07. The soundtrack is very fitting, while a Philharmonic Orchestra may not sound like it could fit the bill for an action film, it somehow works and makes the fight scenes seem more like ballet than agression.

This definitely justifies a 5 out of 5 because right now it's set the bar to which other animators will want to achieve visually while the story, which may follow a template in parts, definitely has the potential to develop. If you've seen Casshern you'll love this, if you haven't - buy them both!
