Within a week of watching a mysterious videotape, a group of teenagers are dead. The bodies are found gruesomely contorted, their eyes frozen as if they had seen something more terrifying than any physical threat.

The video then becomes an urban myth. Insidiously, an unseen force is pointing its deadly finger at those poor souls unable to resist their curiosity. One of those people is cynical journalist Reiko, who soon finds herself unwillingly drawn into a spiralling nightmare of fear from an unseen, omnipresent threat.

The most unsettling film since The Exorcist, with an unnatural presence that touches every nerve in your body, 'Ring' is a beast of an entirely different order. Critically acclaimed as one of the most frightening horror films in years, 'Ring' delivers a tense, spine-chilling atmosphere, filled with an overwhelming sense of dread and a potent presence of unworldly evil. Dark, sinister and genuinely horrifying, this is a film you will never forget.

    Part one of a trilogy.

quite simply one of the most frightening, terrifying movies ever made,it chilled me to the bone.an absolute must have movie, watch this not the money grabbing american version

'Exorcist' 'The Shining' 'Halloween' doesnt even come close.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the scariest, chilling, unnerving and unsettling film I have ever seen. I bought the triology for £50, well worth it. I watched all 3 in one night, and i hav never been more scared of a film, people often say the exorcist, the shining or blair witch poject is the scariest. But my answer to that is just watch this and then make up your mind. Also people often refer to the scene in which the girl crawls out of the TV and into the characters living room, but what I think makes this truly scary is the dark, sombre and intense setting as well as the genius that is Hideo Nakata, that manages to create the fear u feel. The re-make is simply a big budget, special affects laden flop. A must for any horror fan!!!!!!!!!!!

     terrifying

The first time I watched this film I had nightmares for weeks afterwards about people crawling out of my TV. I had to take my TV out of my bedroom for a while until I got over the shock. I bought this on DVD but have never been able to watch it again. The most terrifying film I have ever watched.

     The best horror movie ever!

I first saw this movie on the tv about five years ago and I've been looking for it to buy ever since. This is the scariest horror movie that I've seen to date,no others have even come close.I highly recommend it.

     The God Of jhorror.

The Ring, is the god of jhorror, this is where it all started and Hideo Nakata hit the nail firmly on the head with this flick. Slow paced, with some real thought provoking dialogue this film generally worked so well with its creepy, distrubing feel.

By all means not the first jhorror to be made, but this is the one that started the western obsession.
