For four years, the courageous crew of the NSEA Protector - "Commander Peter Quincy Taggart" (Tim Allen), "Lt. Tawny Madison" (Sigourney Weaver) and "Dr. Lazarus" (Alan Rickman) - set off on thrilling and often dangerous missions in space... and then their series was cancelled!

Now, twenty years later, aliens under attack have mistaken the Galaxy Quest television transmissions for "historical documents" and beamed up the crew of has-been actors to save the universe. With no script, no director and no clue, the actors must turn in the performance of their lives in this hilarious adventure.

Inspired spoof of the Star Trek genre, that works on every level. The story is actually quite good and would work on it's own; the jokes are just brilliant. I suppose you have to be a bit of a trekie to get all the jokes, but even if you aren't, then I don't think you will be disappointed with this film. It is very well worth a watch, and if you are like me, you will be sniggering for days afterwards.

 A fantastic comedy

I bought this originally on VHS from the ex-rental bin at the local video store, I bought it on DVD as soon as I could. This film never gets boring.

The whole cast turn in superb performances, and I have never seen Sigourney Weaver look so good!

This is another film that I keep coming back to, it is funny and it is witty. It also manages to make the geeks the saviours! If you have not seen it you are missing out, if you have then you will know what I am talking about when I say that this film is perfect for the whole family or with a few mates and a drink or two.

To boldly go where no actor has gone before...

Galaxy quest, this has got to be one of the very best sci-fi spoofs of all time. Although i dont actually think there are that many.

Nevertheless this film is highly enjoyable and kept me entertained throughout. At times the film will make you just want to laugh out loud. This comedy is combined with a fairly good sci-fi plot in space, which makes it such a good movie.

I would definitely recommend this film, but im sure in some ways it would appeal to an already Star Trek familiar fan. So im not sure how much of an audience the film will appeal to.
However i do think its an excellent and novelty film that everyone should give a chance of watching.

One of my favourite movies of all time. An action packed, hilarious adventure in space that will keep you laughing for hours. The casting is superb and nobody seems out of place. Alan Rickman, Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver are on top of their game and form an outstanding team.

I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, especially not of Star-Trek, but you really don't need to be to enjoy this classic. It doesn't mock the genre, however just pinpoints those humourous elements perfectly.

I thoroughly recommend this film to all, you wont find better Sunday afternoon viewing for all the family, young and old.

This is one of the best comedies ever. There's a great plot, some great acting and very well written.

If you think this is for trekkies only, think again! I like it as it takes the mick out of them!

I've watched this film 15+ times and I will continue to watch it!
