For over four decades, Leonard Cohen has been one of the most important and influential songwriters of our time, a figure whose body of work achieves greater depths of mystery and meaning as time goes on. In 2008 Leonard Cohen embarked on his first tour in 15 years. Quickly recognised as musical folklore in the making, 29 of the original dates sold out almost immediately, leaving fans and critics alike hailing the show as a once in a lifetime experience. By popular demand, the tour was extended and by the end of that year it had reached 84 markets worldwide, selling more than 700,000 tickets. Live In London, his first new recording since 2004's Dear Heather, was recorded live on July 17, 2008 at London's 02 Arena.

ONLY ONE THING BETTER THAN THE CD...

I Was fortunate enough to see this concert, recorded at the O2 on 17th july 2008, it was simply awesome, like many, I sat too far away from the stage to really appreciate the artists, but this DVD will make up for that and re-ignite wonderful memories. For those who went, they know what to expect, for those who did not manage to get tickets, this is a must. Cohen at almost 74 was his best, humour and humility went hand in hand, he was in top form, the backing artists were superb, the songs were as fresh as the day they were first recorded (some over 40 years ago)special mention to Sharon Robinson. Fautless.

 A spirtual experience

If you love music and being moved to tears, please get to see this!
I went to the O2 and Brighton shows of this tour and wished that the tour had not finished. Both gigs moved me to tears and I will cherish seeing this master / prophet, spellbind his audience.
So put the phones onto answermachine and set the lighting to concert mode and sit back and go on a journey you will remember forever and be able to go back to, when you are happy, sad, his music should give you great comfort.

It is not often that you can review something before it comes out,but in this case you can

Like Fergoos below,I also saw Leonard Cohen In Glasgow ( And Edinburgh ).However unless there was a concert I am not aware of ( if so I apologise ) these dates were Nov 5th & 6th

As for the Dvd,Buy it ! Cohen and his band were in Incredable form at all the concerts last year.I always think live music is better than the recorded stuff. In this case I KNOW it is !!!

Even without seeing the Dvd,I can tell you it will be one of the best music dvds you will ever buy

The man was incredable and so will the Dvd be

 Amazing Performance
