Oliver Stone give us his take on the life of rock star Jim Morrison whose life came tragically to an end in a haze of drug abuse.

The movie captures the psychedelic atmosphere of the Doors work, and particularly Jim Morrison's life -who is played by a very convincing Val Kilmer.

 Probably Val Kilmers best performance

I love this film, what a great yet tragic story of wasted talent. It also proves that on form Val Kilmer can be a great actor, too bad he hasn't had the best film roles in his career but when he's good he's very very good, watch this & you'll see. Its also great that he sang all the songs himself too. A 5 star performance & a 5 star film.

 Excellent

This is a film any Doors fan should see, it takes you back to the 60's and through the the life of Jim Morrision. It's the best bio done from a famous person & has an awesome soundtrack mostly all the Doors hits. This film is for everbody not only Doors fan's as it is very entertaining.
Have seen this film more the 100 times.

This film is really well directed and takes you on a literaly magical journey into the life of Jim Morrison. Oliver Stone created the sixties very well. This contains great music by the doors sung by Val. Better than Walk the line, dreamgirls, Ray etc. Really good extras considering its one disc

 ok then...

I like the Doors music to me they are classic Rock but this film was...really different and not in the good way, the first 30mins is good put then the movie just dies after that. What Happerend Oliver Stone from your greats like, Born on the 4th of July and Platton to this. Its like Francis Ford Coppola with The Godfather part3.

 Val IS Jim.

After watching this, I can't imagine anyone else playing Jim Morrison and actually fitting the role as well as Val has.

This film covers the general story surrounding Jim's life - his obsession with the natives, death, cult, and drugs... combined with promiscuity, dragging the lover from his teens down with him.

Whilst covering the path of his downfall, it leaves much to be interpreted about his death though it states the 'known cause' was heart failure.
