As The Chosen One, Eddie Murphy's on a madcap mission to save The Golden Child, a youth with mystical powers who's been abducted by an evil cult.

He battles a band of super-nasties, scrambles through a booby-trapped chamber of horrors and traverses Tibet to obtain a sacred dagger. But it's Murphy's wit that turns out to be his sharpest weapon in this 24-karat comedy adventure.

 80's Eddie Murphy film

A classic 80's Eddie Murphy action film about good vs evil. This is one of the better more well made action movies of that time and Eddie Murphy is in top form continuing his almost Axel Foley character from Beverly Hills cop with cheeky charm. The effects are a little bit dated but all adds to the nostalgia and is still refreshing to see older films which dont completely rely on special effects .

1986 was ages ago - but this is still good in 2008 (22 years later) its a classic very good movie and reminds me of being really really young, well paced, great story, very funny, and some crazy bits - CLASSIC - BUY IT

Well, what's to say. THE GOLDEN CHILD falls in the category "so bad, it's good". Eddie Murphy is having some funny (and sometimes quite annoying lines), but you are still entertained. Chales Dance has never been worse than his role as the villain Sardo Numspa (who came up with that name??).

Who should watch THE GOLDEN CHILD... hm... difficult to say, but my best guess would be people who likes embarrassing movies and can be entertained by bad acting, bad plot and an even more embarrassing dialog.

 amazing film!!

Eddie Murphy is asked to help find a missing boy "the Golden child" he soon finds out it is not as straight forward a task as he first thought, . .
