Ricky Gervais' critically acclaimed and multi-award winning The Office is taken across the pond. This unique comedy series offers a smart, tongue-in-cheek documentary-style look at the humorous, and sometimes poignant, banality of the 9-to-5 white-collar work world.
The Office takes a painfully funny look at the interactions of the cubicle jockeys at Dunder Mifflin paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Golden Globe winner Steve Carell (The 40-Year Old Virgin) stars as unctuous regional manager Michael Scott who hosts the documentary crew on a tour of the workplace. Jenna Fischer (Miss Match), John Krasinski (Jarhead, Kinsey), Rainn Wilson (Six Feet Under), and B.J. Novak (Punk'd) star as the employees who tolerate Michael's inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks.
With unshaken enthusiasm, Michael believes he is the office funnyman and a fountain of business wisdom. Unaware of how he is perceived by his employees, Michael comes off alternately absurd and pathetic, but always hilarious.
Pam Beesly (Fischer) is the sweet office receptionist who bears the brunt of Michael's behavior. Engaged to Roy, a good old boy who works in the warehouse, Pam looks forward each day to conspiring with Jim Halpert (Krasinski), the likable sales rep with a good sense of humor who should have found a better job years ago. Jim and Pam delight in finding ways to torment the office sycophant, Dwight Schrute (Wilson), the annoying assistant to the regional manager, who is jealous of all the attention that his boss pays to Ryan Howard (Novak), the young, smart, self-possessed temp, who quickly figures out the real office politics.
The Office is executive-produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

I honestly never thought I'd enjoy the US version of The Office, but it's so much better than the British one. Steve Carell, what an absolute legend, you feel so sorry for his character most of the time, but then sometimes you just want to slam his head against his desk for being such an idiot. All the characters work, and you fall in love with them all for different reasons. The chemistry between Jim and Pam is amazing, and you just want them both to wake up and realise they like each other.
I highly recommend this DVD, you will fall in love with this show so quickly =)

The Office An American Workplace Is Fantastic. Not Your Normal Office Only Funnier. When I First Saw The British Series Of The Office Thought It Was Very Funny. I Had To Buy The Box Set. When An American Workplace Was On The TV I Thought It Was Better Than The British Series. Steve Carell Is Brilliant In It. If You Have Never Scene The Office Then Buy This First, Then Buy The British Series. This DVD Is Highly Recommended.
Awesome!

I was such a fan of the original office that I thought the American version would butcher it, but I have to say I think they've improved on it if anything.
The first episode is almost identical to the British one but after that it goes its own way. I think Micheal Scott is even more cringe-worthy than David Brent.
When Dwight buys the womans bag its hilarious.
Highly recommended.
