Tom Witzky (Kevin Bacon) is a blue-collar worker, a family man, the most ordinary guy in the world who is about to be plunged into a shattering encounter with another world. And it doesn't matter that Tom doesn't believe in the supernatural. Because something supernatural has started to believe in Tom.

After he is hypnotized at a neighbourhood party, Tom changes. He sees things he can't explain and hears voices he can't ignore. As the horrific visions intensify, Tom realises they are pieces of a puzzle, echoes of a crime calling out to be solved. But when his otherworldly nightmares begin to come true, Tom wants out.

He desperately tries to rid himself of his eerie, unwanted powers - only to be seized by an irresistible compulsion to dig deeper and deeper into the mystery that is consuming his life. When at last he unearths the truth, it will draw him into the long-buried secret of a ghastly crime, a vengeful spirit and the lethal price of laying that spirit to rest.

Saw this film many moons ago now, without knowing what it was about i sat down and watched.I have to say i love it,in some ways its similar to six sense but still has its own identity.bacon is fantastic as the troubled hypnotized individual.i urge you to see this film and you wont be dissapointed, creepy weird and down right spooky.

i can't believe no one has reviewed this yet!

this must be (referring to title) because it's just too good, i love the wife, i love her in criminal intent, and i love her in this, it's just surreal, creepy, sexy and real!

a must see, and you will reference this film to everything, every scary film with ghosts seems to be based on this masterpiece

Being released almost at the same time as the six sense did not help this film one iota.taking its story from richard mathesons original short and keeping it lean and well structured was very clever.part thriller, part horror and mostly creepy, this film did not get the attention or box office it deserved.a very good film that deserves many viewings.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

This is a great little film and it entertains, its no oscar winner but it has great acting, great plot and it has enough spills and thrills to keep you guessing. If you liked the frightners and the others then like me you will love this. The film flies by and is a great addition to any film night or to cuddle up with someone with. Popcorn optional.
