Top film cut to pieces......

One of my all time favourite 80s films. I couldn't wait to watch it once i had paid my fiver. Absolutely gutted!! This version has been cut to pieces. Great action set pieces like the "plane neck break" and"garden shed" scene have been poorly cut leaving this version looking shoddy and disjointed. I think there are enough of us arnie fans out there to deserve a 2 disc uncut special edition. Compared to 18 rated films today this film is pretty tame. So come on 20th century fox. Pull your fingers out and give us what we want.
Great

one of arnies classics. true 80s action with cheesy one-liners and plenty of nasty bad guys to get through. great.
Best Arnie Ever

I love this film and for a fiver thourght it was a bargin. However im dissapointed to tell you that whilst watching it i couldnt help but notice that some or the more gory (better) scenes had being edited for example when he elbows and then snaps the guys neck on the plane- in this version u only get the elbow.
This doesnt take to much away from the film but its noticeable and considering the film is a 18 anyway annoyed me.
All in all a absolute 80's classic though- probably still worth it if u havent got it on DVD however if they havent messed with the Blu Ray version you could consider that as i am doing.
This still is a great comic book retro blast from the past, This movie started the good natured war between Arnie and Stallone as the race to be king of the action movies in the mid-80's. The suprising thing about this film is that it as aged well, after not seeing this film for a good number of years, I sat down to watch it and expected to be disappointed. But no I was still very entertained. This is because the film knows that it is nothing more than a comic book action movie. Whilst maybe not as good as Rambo, the action is still very well staged, and the jump from the plane is still amazing. The calipso music score by James Horner is still great and pushes along the action. Also the violence is still high, the stand out moment being the head vs. the saw moment, but be warned this version has been edited. Maybe one day we will be treated to the directors cut that is available on region 1, but in the mean time this no exras disc will have to do.
A very entertaining bit of comic book violence.
exactlly wat it should be

Good ol' blast from 80's when action moves were straightforward, suitably self-ironic and stuck strictly to the business. No need for more dialogue than there is nor unnecessary plot twists. It doesn't take long for Arnie in his best form to be in the backyard of baddie. From there on the bodycount just accumulates! It's fun to pop Commando into DVD player once in a while and enjoy its basic, unpretended fun.
The Original Action Hero!!

This movie is definitely one of Arnie's best ever. its up there with The terminator and the running man, ide not seen this movie in years and was left feeling like a kid again by the end(c'mon we all did the pretend kickin' of the bad guys ass when the credits rolled up) as already said in a previous review the way they introduce Arnie's character is amazing they certainly don't have action hero's like him anymore, the only downside was the amount of cuts in the movie for example the part where he chops a guys arm clean off with a knife was not there and the fight with cook was made tamer, this is still a great buy but ime on the look out for the Uncut version

This is a really good action film, I have to admit. I recently watched the movie again after not watching it for about 10 years. When I pressed play I thought what a way to introduce this character it is awesome. What I really enjoy about this film is that it may not have the best stroy, but that is made up by the action which is brilliant, this is one of Arnie's best movies he is fired up and readyto kick some butt in order to save his daughter. Due to the story that is why I gave it a 4 not 5 star ratting, but in terms of action a 5 should be awarded due to the climax. I don't want to give to much away but simply say watch this movie.
I believe this is a great film for any action junky or Schwarzenegger fan and at a great price worth adding to your DVD collection!
