It's one of them films worth watching but it's a film which isn't the easiest to watch. Violent from the start and the character of Tsotsi is very well acted but it's hard to feel for him after his aggressive behaviour. The audience is invited into a dark world of crime in Africa. We revisit Tsotsi's childhood along the way which explains why he's turned out to be the person he is. The ending is very well done but I still felt a little cold and empty by the film as I have the opinion that it doesn't matter how you've been brought up, everyone knows the difference between right and wrong and Tsotsi wasn't likeable, even if sometimes his heart was in the right place. I certainly suggest you watch a light hearted comedy afterwards. However, as a film, it is brilliantly made, even if it doesn't make you feel too cheerful by the end of it.
