Here comes the unbreakable china doll to give you the kicking of your life!
Korea, 1934: during the Japanese occupation of the peninsular, open warfare between rival martial arts schools blights local life. A trio of Chinese students, their patience of constant aggression exhausted, send their antagonists packing.
However, retribution is swift and devastating: after their school is destroyed, the three are banished and return to China. With high hopes of starting their own school. the group is dismayed to find their local neighbourhood dominated by Japanese influence and the trio will need to use all their awesome Kung Fu skills to establish peace...
An early Golden Harvest outing for 'Three Dragons' Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan, Hapkido also features notable turns from Angela Mao, Young Master's Hapkido specialist Wong In-sik and real life Hapkido Grandmaster Ji Han Jae.

I first saw this film at the cinema in 1974 at the height of kung fu mania and I thought then it was the best non Bruce Lee martial arts movie of them all and I still think that. It's a traditional school versus school story but it's action all the way and it features all the familiar faces and the best villains. Pai Ying is the man! Highly recommended!
Classic Old School action.

This film finally gets it's release on dvd - we've waited too long!. Released at the same time as Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury back in 1972 this is similar, althought the action is not quite as sharp as Bruce. It's still fantastic though. This is old school from beginning to end with a young Sammo Hung taking a prominent role. Female lead - Angela Mao (remember her from the begining of Enter the Dragon?) is more than credible in her performance as the deadly china doll where we see her using the deadly Korean art of Hapkido against the Japanese fighters causing havoc in the local town. You should have this in your collection if you are a fan of Sammo Hung, Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury or just an asian fight film fan in general. The special features are not that great but the film more than makes up for that.
