I first saw this film at the cinema in 1974 at the height of kung fu mania and I thought then it was the best non Bruce Lee martial arts movie of them all and I still think that. It's a traditional school versus school story but it's action all the way and it features all the familiar faces and the best villains. Pai Ying is the man! Highly recommended!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Classic Old School action.

This film finally gets it's release on dvd - we've waited too long!. Released at the same time as Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury back in 1972 this is similar, althought the action is not quite as sharp as Bruce. It's still fantastic though. This is old school from beginning to end with a young Sammo Hung taking a prominent role. Female lead - Angela Mao (remember her from the begining of Enter the Dragon?) is more than credible in her performance as the deadly china doll where we see her using the deadly Korean art of Hapkido against the Japanese fighters causing havoc in the local town. You should have this in your collection if you are a fan of Sammo Hung, Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury or just an asian fight film fan in general. The special features are not that great but the film more than makes up for that.
