Danish movies are great. And this one is no exeption. The war has many many stories to tell, and this is one of them... Well worth watching!
I'm interested in WW2 films, not heard of this one and found out about it on play.com. Read the reviews and felt the excitement of the other reviewers.
Thought I'd give it a go - I don't usually leave comments about a film but felt I had to after watching this.
Very impresses with the film, grips you from the start and holds you till the end wanting more. Great acting, great storyline, nice twist. Only negative thing I can say is I am dissapointed i'd not heard of it earlier.
It ranks with some of the best films i've seen from the era - infact any films ive seen. Will now research what other films this director has done. Money well spent, hope you enjoy it also. Think I will try Army of Crime next.
An excellent, gritty and wonderfully acted portrayal of the two heroes of the Holger Danske resistance group. Bent Faurschou-Hviid (Flame) & Jørgen Haagen Schmith (Citron) are beautifully portrayed by Thure Lindhardt & Mads Mikkelsen. A must watch movie and a real bargain for the price.
What a great story,have never heard of the characters Flame & Citron before but will never forget now,what heroics.Acting is fantastic,and sets very realistic,highly reccomended.
We are in the time where a lot of WW2 films are made on continental Europe; and this is a bold an experimental war film, with a conclusion which is excellent.
