Alfred Hitchcock amply demonstrates why he's been called "The Master of Suspense" with this both witty and macabre tale of voyeurism and murder starring two of cinema's all-time favourites, James Stewart and Grace Kelly.

L.B. Jeffries (Stewart), a photographer with a broken leg, takes up the fine art of spying on his Greenwich Village neighbours during a summer heat wave. But things really hot up when he suspects one neighbour of murdering his invalid wife and burying the body in a flower garden.

 Simply Perfect

This is not only the best example of what made Hitchcock the greatest Director of all time, its also my favourite movie. Its perfection.
Has one of Jimmy Stewarts neighbours murdered his wife? With the help of the angelic Grace Kelly, he sets about trying to find out. Claustrophic and gripping, this movie marks Hitch at the height of his powers and perhaps has become more relevant in the age of voyeuristic reality TV. Pure Gold!

 The best film ever made!!!!

First i would just like to say this is my favorate film of all time! It reflects pure perfection, from its inspiring cinematography tecniques(all thanks to the genius that is Alfred Hitchcock) to the subtle inquisative looks from Jimmy Stewart. Grace Kellys beauty radiates from the screen, theres no way you could take yours eyes off her! The plot is gripping and keeps you hooked every second. You see everything through L.B.Jeffries (James Stewart) eyes, peering through his appartment window. Did Thaward do it? You will soon find out the fate of our beloved neighbours! I have watched this film over 100 times and i NEVER get bored of watching this movie masterpiece.

 A simple claustrophobic thriller

Hitchock is at his best with dazzling cinematography and an intriguing performance by James Stewart as the bored, wheelchair-bound photographer spying on his neighbours. Through the excellent subjective shots, seen through Stewart's nosey camera, a wife appears to be murdered across the courtyard around everyday people. But the photographer has to take out his own investigation which ends up in one of the best climaxes in Hitchock's collection. Ever wondered what happens behind closed curtains in American suburbia?

 Hitchcock's best

The best Hitchcock film in my opinion.

The way it is told and set really is a credit to the legendary director. Although some parts look seriously dated (it is 55 years old now and in no way does it detract from the quality that has been put together) it is still brilliant in the department of Hitchcock's prime subject, suspense!

With such a claustrophobic setting and the story being told from just one room it really is a one of a kind movie.

James Stewart is brilliant and Grace Kelly is superb. Their relationship on the screen keeps you constantly guessing whether there is anything there

Not only one of the best Hitchcock films but one of the best films ever made

 One of Hitchcocks Finest!

A little drawn out in the beginning, but once it gets going you'll be on the edge of your seat right up until the last minute! Definitely one of Hitchcock's best, it's right up there with Psycho! Brilliant performances by the whole cast. Only Hitchcock would be able to make 2 hours of watching a guy in a wheelchair sit at the window entertaining. I couldn't take my eyes off it!
