Alfred Hitchcock amply demonstrates why he's been called "The Master of Suspense" with this both witty and macabre tale of voyeurism and murder starring two of cinema's all-time favourites, James Stewart and Grace Kelly.
L.B. Jeffries (Stewart), a photographer with a broken leg, takes up the fine art of spying on his Greenwich Village neighbours during a summer heat wave. But things really hot up when he suspects one neighbour of murdering his invalid wife and burying the body in a flower garden.

Not quite my own favourite Hitchcock film but certainly up there amongst them, the story of James Stewart's wheelchair bound apartment dweller who realises his neighbour (Raymond Burr) has murdered his wife remains a gripping watch.
I think in this film, more than his others, there is an element of showing off a little bit - the sheer amount of work that had to be put into choreographing all the action taking place simultaneously in all the apartment windows was a huge undertaking.
It works a treat though, not least with the help from Grace Kelly's girlfriend as she pluckily investigates while Stewart remains incapacitated.
Pretty good extras as well, on a par with the other Hitchcock releases that have come out.

This is not only the best example of what made Hitchcock the greatest Director of all time, its also my favourite movie. Its perfection.
Has one of Jimmy Stewarts neighbours murdered his wife? With the help of the angelic Grace Kelly, he sets about trying to find out. Claustrophic and gripping, this movie marks Hitch at the height of his powers and perhaps has become more relevant in the age of voyeuristic reality TV. Pure Gold!
Hitchcock's best

The best Hitchcock film in my opinion.
The way it is told and set really is a credit to the legendary director. Although some parts look seriously dated (it is 55 years old now and in no way does it detract from the quality that has been put together) it is still brilliant in the department of Hitchcock's prime subject, suspense!
With such a claustrophobic setting and the story being told from just one room it really is a one of a kind movie.
James Stewart is brilliant and Grace Kelly is superb. Their relationship on the screen keeps you constantly guessing whether there is anything there
Not only one of the best Hitchcock films but one of the best films ever made
