the golden girls is a comedy series about four older women living in miami together in the 1980's.there's rose the dumb one,dorothy the sensible but hopeless in love one,Blanche the oversexed maneater' and sofia the mad storyteller.all of the women are very different but their personalities complement each other which is what in my opinion made the show such a phenomenal hit.it was very controversial at the time because here was 4 mature women talking about sex,religion,drugs,etc in such a casual way.whether it was sofia's clever made up stories with hidden meanings,rose recounting here wacky days in her hometown of saint olaf,blanche's explicit sex romps or dorothy criticising the other women and telling rose to shut up,the golden girls will always be a classic.its smart jokes and brilliant characters will make sure its remembered for long time to come.long live the glory of the eighties!!!
There is life after 65. That was the tagline this show and trust me it really does show that. What i love the most is that all the characters blend so well eventhough they are all very different. Rose is the "dumb blonde", blanche is man crazy, dorothy is the elegent one and sofia is the outspoken one. This does not look very good with the old women but it won a lot of awards which it deserved
