i enjoyed the first 1, didnt like the second, i felt the second was too over john woo'ed in its directing, i dont like lost so me to enjoy this was a surprise, the only reason i watched this is because 1 of my friends said that it was better than casino royale, as a result i watched this and yet to see casino royale. this film is in my opiion miles better than the second outing, fast pace, glossy looking, its a great film and if you didnt like the second 1 dont put that against this. A must watch.
THE MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT IS THE BEST YET !

This is my best film of 2006, and a dramatic improvement on M.I.2. This is like a hybrid version of the othe two movies of the trilogy. Correcting what was wrong and keeping all that was wright. With Director J.J.Abrams in the chair. It's like a breath of fresh air. The plot is clever, all about hunting down a object called the rabbits foot, what it is is never quite explained, but it must be bad, as the I.M.F team headed by Cruse have to deal with the very very nasty Phillip Semor Hoffman, as dirty arms dealer. What sets this film apart from the rest of the trilogy is the opening scene, It sets up a feeling of impending doom for the rest of the movie. The action is brilliant, just watch the escape of Hoffman on the Bridge. Also the film feels more in line with the Bourne Trilogy, as the film has a more gritty and urgent edge. Cruse is excellent as Ethan Hunt, and also Larry Fishburn excells as the head of the I.M.F department. The film never puts a foot wrong. It's a brainy Summer Blockbuster that takes you for a brilliant ride. It's a pity that part 4 may be put in doubt as the studio (Paramount) dumped Cruse not long after it's release, due to his odd behavior. It's there loss, as in this movie you can see why Cruse is one of the biggest actors alive ( not in hight, that is ! ) A must buy movie, that can stand up with the BOURNE TRILOGY and CASINO ROYALE as the best spy movies in the last decade !
What a downhiller.

I fell asleep watching this-seriously.I didn't Know what the end was like cause I was dreaming.Don't want to know either. Not much action scenes in this film and it wasn't the best performance Cruise could give.A dull boring movie which I wouldn't bother buying.
Wrong on every level

its was not entertaining it was bordom to the extreme - below average set pieces (a bit on a bridge was the films ony promising moment), rubbish acting and a terrible plot - if you want to see a good mission impossible film stick to the first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Slightly underwhelming actioner...

As a big fan of 'Alias' when I heard JJ Abrams was at the helm of MI3 I was expecting great things. Brian DePalma and John Woo has both delivered enjoyable, if instantly forgettable, movies though with his experience in all things spy related JJ Abrams seemed like the perfect choice (though I would have loved to see what David Fincher and Joe Carnahan would have produced had they not passed on the project) Though the finished product is far from boring, with some fantastic action scenes including a superbly constructed bridge attack and a thrilling helicopter chase, I found myself slowly losing interest by the last third of the movie when, to me, it tailed off into predictability and ridiculousness. The McGuffin of the piece 'The Rabbit's Foot' also frustrated as I slowly realised the nature of the wafer thin plot. Yeah, I know you shouldn't look for believability and complex plotting in films like this but the ending felt like a bit of a damp squib after what had come before. Maggie Q certainly adds a touch of class to the proceedings, and Simon Pegg is always watchable, but, at times, the cast seemed to be simply going through the motions with a great cast (especially Laurence Fishburne) wasted in underwritten roles. Still recommended to action fans, and definitely no disaster what I had sincerely hoped would be the best of the trilogy actually turned out to be no better or worse than the previous two. Better luck next time?
