From J.J. Abrams, the creator of Alias, comes an action-packed adventure that will bring out the very best and the very worst in the people who are lost on a faraway desert island...

Out of the blackness, the first thing Jack (Matthew Fox) senses is pain. Then burning sun. A bamboo forest. Smoke. Screams. With a rush comes the horrible awareness that the plane he was on tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island. From there it's a blur, as his doctor's instinct kicks in: people need his help. Stripped of everything, the 48 survivors scavenge what they can from the plane for their survival. Some panic. Some pin their hopes on rescue. A few find inner-strength they never knew they had.

Kate (Evangeline Lilly), with no medical training, suddenly finds herself suturing the doctor's wounds. Hurley (Jorge Garcia) - a man with a warm sense of humour despite the desperate situation - does his best to keep his cool as he helps those around him to survive. Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) is a faded rock star who harbours a painful secret. Sayid (Naveen Andrews) is a Middle Eastern man and former member of the Elite Republican Guard, who must wrestle with the racial profiling directed at him by some of his fellow survivors. Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) and Sun (Kim Yun-jin) are a Korean couple whose traditions, values and language are foreign and thus causes much to get lost in the translation. Sawyer (Josh Holloway) has an air of danger surrounding him, and his intense sense of mistrust for everyone around him could prove to be fatal to his fellow castaways. Michael (Harold Perrineau) has just gained custody of his nine-year-old son, Walt (Malcolm David Kelley), after the death of his ex-wife - they are a father and son who don't even know each other. Locke (Terry O'Quinn) is a mysterious man who keeps to himself, and who harbours a deeper connection to the island than any of the others. And self-centered Shannon (Maggie Grace) - who actually gives herself a pedicure amid the chaos - and her estranged controlling brother, Boone (Ian Somerhalder) - constantly bicker and must learn to get along if they are to survive.

 Brilliant series!

It's been years since a gritty, original, fascinating TV show has been made, but luckily, from amidst the ruin of teen drama's, crime thrillers and other plain monotonous shows comes this!

Lost is a show that encompasses science and realism, the idea of faith and sheer transcendental craziness and also some fantastic characters, and succeeds. It is a credit to the writers of this series that in the pilot they manage to successfully include a plane crash, an attacking 'monster', tragedy whilst also introducing some great characters.

Although the episodes late 40mins, you can easily sit and watch them nonstop for days! There are some great characters, and it is worth watching just for Sawyer's nicknames, Hurley's adorableness although the deeper aspects of the characters make them really likeable. Also, maybe Kate is an extreme character, but she's beautiful, cool and different so I think it works.

This really is a quality series, really different and innovative. A definite for people who want something different, gritty and innovative.

One of the Best American Dramas Currently Out There.

Lost is an amazing drama from the US, bound to keep you enthralled from the first episode. There is certain to be at least one character you can relate to on this island, and has you thinking, "What would I do in that situation?" Every episode ends in a cliff-hanger, so it leaves you wanting more, and you can never see what is going to happen next. If you enjoy disaster movies, then the first two-parter episode alone is worth watching, being the most expensive pilot episode of a TV show thus far. As a converted 'Lostie', I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Took me ages to getting around to watching Lost as I had heard quite a few bad reviews of it, however when i eventually started watching it I was pleasently surprised. It is very addictive viewing, I couldn't get enough of it. The stories of the characters are interesting to watch as they unfold. At times the flash backs do get a bit tedius however. Overall it has kept me hooked and very entertained! Great show!

Top 100  Reviewer Top 100 DVD Reviewer

When Lost first arrived on the scene back in 2004 no one had a clue of what to expect and i myself was shocked to find a truly intriguing series that sparked a the start of an addicion, its the most addictive TV series to grace our screens.

The setup is simple, people lost on an island after a plane crash learning to survive together with an added twist of smoke monsters, polar bears, the others and the mysterious hatch all adding together to make one amazing original TV series.

Lost has it all, including one of the biggest cast's a TV show has ever had and thought provoking storylines with back story and action, action, action.

This is a great beggining for Lost and the seasons after just get better and better and starts of the trend of having an unbearble to wait for cliffhanger, a must have for fans of mystery and just great television.
