In Roger Moore's first outing as 007, he investigates the murders of three fellow agents, he soon finds himself a target, evading vicious assassins as he closes in on the powerful Kananga (Yaphet Kotto).

Known on the streets as "Mr Big", Kananga is co-ordinating a globally threatening scheme using tons of self-produced heroin. As Bond tries to unravel the mastermind's plan, he meets Solitaire (Jane Seymour), the beautiful Tarot card reader whose magical gifts are crucial to the crime lord. Bond, of course, works his own magic on her, and the stage is set for a series of pulse-pounding action sequences involving voodoo, hungry crocodiles and turbo-charged speedboats.

Yes a pun! This was a solid film and a great intro to one of the best Bonds to date. Buy it if you are a 007 fan. Buy it if you just like action and Martinis

Connery did his swan song. Now it was time for a new Bond in the form of Roger Moore. In his early roles as Bond, Moore was good, it was only his dreadful late additions that tarnished his name as Bond. With charm, wit and deadly assurance, Roger Moore steps in as the sophisticated and lethal agent. In this pretty average and silly story of voodoo and black magic. The film does have some good action, but the film tries too hard and fails to fit into the realm of SHAFT. for me it does not work. but as a decent action film the film rattles along at a good pace, and you have always got Jane Seymour to look at. Also it does have a excellent theme tune by Wings. worth Buying for a Bond fan.

Worth 5 stars for the theme song on its own. Another for Jane Seymore. Amusing and great action sequences. One of the best Bond films.

 One of my faves

This is an awesome James Bond film. Roger Moore did extremely well in his first role as the suave spy. The story is brilliant, the music brilliant, the action brilliant, the acting brilliant ... everything is brilliant. It also features a fantastic bunch of villains including Kananga, Tee-Hee, Baron Samedi, all fantastic. Great start for the best James Bond actor, Roger Moore.
