Non stop edge of the seat action exciterment movie. In my opinion this is one of the best James Bond movie and I'm glad that Pierce Brosnan made this movie as I think he was second best 007 agent after Sean Connery. An unstoppable action and amazing movie, a must have in your collection.
While never quite as good as "Goldeneye", this follow-up moves with a pace and furious energy rarely matched by any of its predecessors. It also manages the considerable accomplishment for a Bond film of coming in just under two hours.
Jonathan Pryce is an average villain but Michelle Yeoh makes for a formidable Bond girl. The action scenes are excellently staged but start to seem a little mechanical towards the end.
Brosnan returns in a leaner Bond movie, thats light on plot, but excells in the action department.
A deranged media mogul is staging international incidents to pit the world's super powers against each other.
Bond must take on this mad-man in an adrenaline -charged battle to end his reign of terror, and prevent global pandemonium.
The action in the film is superb, and there is alot of it. But the problem with a Bond movie is, if the bad guy is no good the film does suffer, and the Bad guy in ths played by Jonathan Pryce is not very good. He just taps away at a key board making headlines for his paper. But Brosnan is ever excellent and Judi Dench as "M" brings things down to earth. With a better bad guy this film would have been a classic Bond. But as it stands, it's a very good action film.
One of the better Brosnan Bonds, his 2nd outing hits the ground running and keeps up its relentless pace throughout. Spottiswoode expertly brings more vim and vigour to the franchise and there's no sign of the alleged backstage fighting. Brosnan slips effortlessly back into the role of 007, teaming up with a hard asskicking Chinese agent (Yeoh) in battling a media mogul who is stage managing a world war in order to get exclusive broadcast rights. If anything, Pryce's fey mogul is the film's weakest link but it doesn't affect the film's breathless speed too much.
The film suffers from an unimpressive villain and henchman but makes up for it with the superb BMW chase and Michelle Yeoh. Cuts to violence are restored in this pressing
