Pusher (1996): A small time drug dealer's life goes from bad to worse in a heartbeat as a sure-fire deal turns sour. The film follows Frank as he frantically tries to find a way out and escape his angry drug suppliers.
Along the way we see the hopeless, desperate and at times extreme decisions forced upon those involved in the Copenhagen underworld....
Pusher II - Blood On My Hands (2004): Tonny is released from prison - again. This time he has his mind set on changing his broken down life, but that is easier said than done...
Following on from the awesome Pusher, Nicolas Winding Refn picks up the story of Tonny, previously seen beaten to a bloody pulp after snitching his friend to the police. Tonny, newly released from prison himself, has the surprise of an ex-girlfriend who hands him a baby. Could there be a worse candidate for a father? Tonny must try to earn the respect of his own father and escape the countless deals going on around him to finally grow up, but has he left it far too late?
Pusher III - I'm The Angel Of Death (2005): The trilogy now focuses its attention on Milo, the gangland boss who appears throughout the trilogy. It now becomes his turn to feel the pinch when he gets in to debt to a younger and more vicious gang that have rolled into town. For the first time in the trilogy Milo must get his own hands dirty, quite literally...
Pusher III deftly emphasises the bleak nature of a criminal existence that offers rewards barely worth the effort. Most horrifying about Milo's day is that the film treats all his actions on the same level, from brokering deals, looking after his guests and mincing up bodies!
